Students join to break ground at OVGG.

Eleanor Roosevelt College recently acknowledged Ocean View Growing Grounds (OVGG) as an Outstanding Community Service program for students. UC San Diego International House's "Slice of America: Help Grow a Community Garden and Food Forest" program provides students with an opportunity to visit different parts of San Diego, encouraging them to think critically about their roles and interactions with local communities. Dr. Keith Pezzoli, representing the Superfund Initiatives at OVGG, led a tour to teach attendees about community development and locally sourced food initiatives that are shaping the evolving landscape of agriculture in San Diego. Using locally grown produce, students learned hands-on how to make vegetable spring rolls.
