The Bioregional Center promotes intergenerational leadership by initiating participatory action research projects that utilize a Community Youth Development approach. This facilitates youth and adults who work together to address negative issues within their respective communities.


To create opportunities for young students to gain the skills, knowledge and abilities necessary for a successful transition into becoming healthy, happy, and civically contributing adults. The opportunities are based within efforts to transform the places that young people live into healthy, supportive and nurturing communities.

  • Establish and cultivate youth/adult partnerships that implement positive community change.
  • Increase young people’s civic engagement in planning and implementing positive community change.
