Planning in Imperial Beach
In the City of Imperial Beach, four very different areas were selected as the focus of community engagement, participatory spatial analysis, and design. Led by the staff from the City and the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (TRNERR), in partnership with nearly a dozen stakeholders, designs were prepared for the renovation of landscapes at the historically significant Borderfield State Park and the City’s well loved Veterans’ Park; for laundry greywater and water capture at the TRNERR Nursery Building; and for green infrastructure and flood mitigation at multiple areas along the Border to Bayshore Bikeway.
